Dr Russell Hunter

Dr Russell Hunter has worked as a GP in the Redlands for over 35 years; he graduated from the University of Queensland in 1983 and completed registrar positions in paediatrics and geriatrics at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He holds a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Certificate in Family Planning.

Dr Hunter performs vasectomies at Pivotal Health for both new and existing patients and also consults monthly at True Relationships and Reproductive Health to assist with keeping his skills up to date.

He has extensive experience and advanced training in skin cancer detection and management and is regarded as the clinic’s go-to doctor for skin cancer care. Dr Hunter is committed to staying current with the latest techniques in skin surgery to ensure the highest standard of patient care.

A long-standing accredited GP training supervisor, Dr Hunter is passionate about mentoring the next generation of general practitioners and sharing his dedication to excellence in General Practice.

Outside of medicine, Dr Hunter is an active triathlete, regularly competing in local events as well as competitions across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. He is also a practical problem-solver within the practice, often developing solutions to improve efficiency.

Dr Hunter is environmentally conscious, actively reducing landfill, driving an electric vehicle, and utilising solar energy at home.
