As we get older, many of us become more vulnerable to illness. The federal government introduced a new health check in 2008. This health check is for everyone aged between 45 and 49 who may be at risk of developing a chronic health issue like diabetes or heart disease.
The aim of the health check is to help find, prevent or lessen the effect of disease. This health check will give us the opportunity to look at your lifestyle and medical/family history to assess your risk of developing a chronic disease.
There is no cost for this service as it is covered by Medicare.
Please note: You are only eligible for one 45-49 year old health check.
